After
working in and around the restaurant
business in Phoenix, Arizona for 10 years, BJ and Gilbert
Hernandez introduced Havana Café to the Phoenix area
in December of 1989. This new Cuban restaurant was a
unique offering among the proliferation of Spanish and
Mexican restaurants in the valley, offering Cuban cuisine
with influences from Spain and Latin America. Over the
years, several latin restaurants have come and gone,
but only Havana Café and it's signature Cuban dishes
have stood the test of time.
Havana Café's recipes have been developed by owner and
chef BJ Heranandez, and are adapted from traditional
Cuban dishes. For more than 20 years Havana Café has gained
many loyal customers who return again and again for a favorite
dish, or to try something new from our menu.
After opening the original Havana Café on Camelback Road
in Phoenix in 1989, BJ and Gilbert opened a second
location on Bell Road in Scottsdale in May of 1992, and
most recently a third location in Ahwatukee in July of
2005. View

If you haven't visited us yet, you simply must stop by
and try one of our classic Cuban recipes — like the
Emperadado Cubano (The Cuban Sandwich) — we know
you'll be glad you did!!
